Welcome to the Darkroom

"The Darkroom"

A collection of Thoughts, Ideas, Inspiration and Challenges to those that see the world through a lens.

Day 1

Welcome to my first installment of "The Darkroom" a place where (hopefully) thoughts and inspiration develop!
The best place to start is usually the beginning, jumping ahead when reading or watching a movie is a guaranteed way to miss something important in the plot of the book or movie and the same goes for life.
A photograph on the other hand gives you everything in one shot. Nothing hidden, nothing more and nothing less, it's all captured in a fraction of a second and frozen in time forever.
I believe their is something important about photography, a certain kind of honesty can be found in a photograph that can't be found anywhere else. Even our current "selfie" craze tells a lot about the people taking their own pictures.

When the Apostle Thomas was told of Christ's resurrection he acted as many of us would, he said "show me and I'll believe" (that's the short version). When we don't believe something we want to see it for our selves.
Photography was first used as a tool for documenting events "Historical Evidence". I'm not sure anyone could have imagined the amazing journey that photography has taken in the past century.
The word Photography means "Drawing with Light". Without light bouncing off of objects their would be no photography. It's all about the light! It is with the light that we see everything.

I hope to impart a little light into your world. On Friday I'm going to introduce you to 3 amazing photographers, each is a master and a visionary of their craft. They are some of the most influencial photographers today.
I look forward to hearing from you, feel free to reach out and say hey, let me know what you think and what you would like to learn about in the world of photography.
